The PDF has four pages, each one landscape on US Letter paper. Print only the page you need. For A4 paper, choose "Fit to page" in your print settings.
- Page 1, short game: 5 hands, dealing 1, 2, 3, 2, 1 cards.
- Page 2, standard game: 9 hands, dealing 1 up to 5 cards and back down.
- Page 3, long game: 13 hands, dealing 1 up to 7 cards and back down.
- Page 4, any length: 15 hands with a blank Cards column for your own order.
How to fill it in
- Write each name at the top of a player column, and write the trump suit for the hand after you turn it up.
- Before anyone plays, write each player's bid in the Bid column.
- After the hand, write the tricks each player won in the Won column.
- If Bid and Won match, the player scores 10 plus the bid. If they do not match, the player scores 0.
- When the last hand ends, add each Points column. The highest total wins, and ties share first place.
A filled-in example
| Hand | Cards | Bid | Won | Points |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 1 | 0 | 0 | 10 |
| 2 | 2 | 1 | 1 | 11 |
| 3 | 3 | 2 | 1 | 0 |
| Total | 21 | |||
An exact zero still scores 10, so bidding nothing can be a smart call. See more examples on the scoring page, or read the full rules before you deal.
Score sheet questions
Is the Oh Hell score sheet free?
Yes. It is a free PDF with no sign-up. Print as many copies as your table needs.
How many players does the sheet fit?
It has seven player columns, because Oh Hell works with 3 to 7 players. Leave the extra columns blank if you have fewer.
Which page should I print?
Page 1 is a short game of 5 hands, page 2 a standard game of 9 hands, and page 3 a long game of 13 hands. Page 4 has 15 hands with a blank Cards column, so you can write in your own order.
Does it work for Blackout or Up and Down the River?
Yes. They are other names for the same game. If your table scores differently, write your own numbers in the Points column.
What do I write when someone misses their bid?
Write 0 in the Points column for that hand. A miss scores nothing, whether the player won too many tricks or too few.
