Sixes, Moe Lueker’s original card game

Three pairs. One risky knock.

Keep your score low, turn an awkward pair into a good one, and decide when to call the table. Sixes is free to play on your phone or computer, with friends or computer players.

A small hand with a lot to think about

You have six cards in three rows of two. Matching positive ranks cancel out. Aces and Jokers take points away. Most cards begin face down, so nobody knows quite how good their hand is.

8♥8♣0
Two Eights cancel. Each horizontal pair scores on its own.

On your turn, swap in a useful card, draw from the deck, or flip one of your hidden cards. Think you have the lowest score? Knock at the end of your turn. Everyone else gets one last turn. If you guessed wrong, their points are added to yours.

A private table, played in your browser.

Get a table together

  1. Choose a name and one of the card-room characters.
  2. Create a private room and share its four-letter code or invitation link.
  3. Add friends or computer players, then deal. The game handles the cards and scorecard.

Private rooms do not need accounts. Each person uses their own browser. Play with 2 to 8 seats, or choose solo to fill the other chairs with computer players. The host can choose 3, 6 or 9 rounds and add an unscored practice round.

Learn a little, then play

Read the complete Sixes rules for the turn sequence and the last-turn rules. The interactive pair scorer shows exactly how every pair works, and the strategy guide explains how to judge a knock without pretending to know hidden cards.

Playing with a real deck? Download the two-page printable rules. You need a deck with two Jokers for 2 to 4 players, or two decks with four Jokers for 5 to 8.

Before you pull up a chair

Is this the other game called Sixes?

This is Moe Lueker’s original game: six cards in three horizontal pairs, negative Aces and Jokers, and a knock penalty. Other card games and outdoor games share the name. These pages explain this version.

Can we stop and come back?

The host can pause a private room. Timers stop and the room is saved for up to 24 hours, subject to the room’s overall lifetime. Return on the same browser with the same link to recover your seat.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Open the game in a browser. Music and the announcer start off; you can change sound settings from the table menu.
