How long your end screen music should be
YouTube's own help pages say end screens can only run in the last 5 to 20 seconds of a video, and a video has to be at least 25 seconds long to use one at all. Your outro should fit that window instead of getting cut off or leaving silence while your end screen elements are still showing.
The outro options here are 5, 10 or 15 seconds. If your end screen runs closer to the full 20 seconds, pick 15 seconds so the music covers most of it without repeating awkwardly.
Matching your outro to your intro
Your outro isn't a separate download. It comes from the same generation as your intro and loop, so it's the same instruments and the same key, just arranged to land on an ending instead of starting fresh. A channel that opens and closes with music that clearly matches feels more like a real show and less like a video with a random clip stuck on the end.
Using the loop for a longer end card
If your end card or outro segment runs longer than 15 seconds, a single outro can start to feel like it's stretching past its natural ending. Use the 15 or 30 second background loop instead. It's checked so the loop point doesn't click or jump, so it can run under a longer end card, a subscribe reminder or a next video callout without sounding like it looped.
