Blackout, the exact-bid card game
The right number wins points.
Every hand is a fresh contract. Your points depend on hitting your own bid exactly.
One rule, every hand
| Bid | Tricks won | Points |
|---|---|---|
| 0 | 0 | 10 |
| 1 | 1 | 11 |
| 3 | 3 | 13 |
| 3 | 2 | 0 |
| 3 | 4 | 0 |
| 0 | 1 | 0 |
There are no partial points for tricks when you miss your bid. Taking too many and taking too few have the same result.
Read the scorecard
The player tiles show tricks won / bid. A tile reading 2 / 3 means the player still wants one trick. A tile reading 3 / 2 means the bid has already been missed.
After each hand, the results show your bid, tricks taken and awarded points. Add the points across all hands. For example, an exact zero, a missed two, and an exact three total 10 + 0 + 13 = 23.
Highest total wins the match. If two players finish on 62 and the third has 51, the first two share first place. Nobody wins a tiebreak by seat order.
Why the dealer sometimes cannot bid zero
With one trick available, suppose the players before the dealer bid one in total. A dealer bid of zero would make the total exactly one, so zero is forbidden. With the dealer rule on, at least one person must miss in every hand.
