Jingle rights, in plain English

Here is exactly what applies to the jingles HookHouse makes, and what we will never claim. Last reviewed September 26, 2026. This page is not legal advice.

Who makes the jingle

Every jingle is generated by Google's Lyria 3 Clip model through Google's Gemini API on a paid API key, on the free tier and in packs alike. Your certificate names the exact model used for each jingle.

What Google's terms say

Google says it won't claim ownership of the content you generate with its API.
On the paid API tier, Google says it does not use prompts or responses to improve its products. It may keep them for up to 30 days to check for abuse.
Google's Generative AI Prohibited Use Policy bans using generated content to impersonate real people or to violate other people's rights, including intellectual property.
Every track carries an inaudible SynthID watermark that identifies it as AI-generated. It does not change how the track sounds.

Copyright

The US Copyright Office says music made entirely by AI, with no human creative changes, generally is not protected by copyright. If you edit, arrange or combine the track with your own work, your creative contribution may be protected, but the AI-generated part may not be. Google also says it may generate similar content for other people.

What we never promise

We make no promises about royalties, copyright or clearance beyond what Google's terms above say.
We cannot promise that YouTube, Meta, a radio station or any other platform will never flag a track. Your certificate records when and how the jingle was made, which you can share if a platform asks, but we cannot promise a dispute will succeed.
We do not check whether a business name is trademarked. We only reject names that are clearly famous brands.
We do not offer indemnity for generated music, and the Gemini API terms we read include none.

Your part

Only use a business name, tagline and logo that you own or have permission to use.
Never name a real artist, band, song or person to imitate. Our check rejects requests like that before the music model runs when it catches them, but it is not perfect, so this stays your responsibility.
Do not add other people's trademarks or copyrighted lyrics to your hook.
Listen to every jingle before you use it. AI singers can blur or change a name.
If someone asks, do not present the music as made entirely by a human.
Before a jingle airs on real radio or TV, or runs in a paid campaign, check the terms above and talk to a lawyer.

Uploaded logos

If you use your logo as the cover, it is placed on a plain background on our server. It is never sent to an AI model and never used for training. We delete the uploaded file within 48 hours of making your cover (our cleanup runs once a day), and you can delete the whole jingle, cover included, from your library at any time.
